Located in central Alberta, just north of the town of Lacombe, D Bar C Cattle Co. (Cam, Debbie, Laramie, Shelby and Colby Sissons) and Circle G Simmentals (Garth Cutler) operate in an area of Alberta known as the Parkland Region. This area is well suited to the production of forage crops thus making it a good area for cattle production. Our families have been involved in agriculture in Western Canada since 1903. Although we have many years of experience in the purebred and commercial cattle industry, it wasn't until 1993 that our first Red and Black Simmentals were born. After much research and really seeing the positive traits of these red and black cattle, we purchased a select group of females from the Nelson Ranch in Wibaux, Montana. In 1996, we were named the Premier Exhibitor at the Canadian National Simmental Show where over 600 head of cattle were shown. We have also had many of the High Selling lots at the premier red and black sale "Checkers".

We are very enthused with the red and black Simmental cattle and really believe in them. They are being sought after by many top purebred and commercial cattlemen because of their ability to increase their profit potential.

THE CATTLE
Our herd consists of approximately 160 females split evenly between red and black. We are widening our gene pool by purchasing outcross genetics. This last spring we purchased two outcross black bulls and 10 exciting females from Meyer Ranch, South Dakota. Our cow numbers have been steadily increasing and our cow herd is really taking shape. We strive for uniformity in type, color and thickness and will not sacrifice correct structure and feet to achieve this.

Ours is a family operation with our kids loving it as much as we do. The cows are our sole source of income so we must strive for the best that we can.
